Biography

Mr. Kai Hansen was a Co-Founding Partner at Rheingau Founders. He co-founded SportMe. He studied business administration with a focus on entrepreneurship and marketing at the EBS Business School in Oestrich-Winkel (Germany), Auckland, and Buenos Aires. During his last year at university, He founded his first startup, sportme, a social community for athletes, with Philipp Hartmann and Dr. Tobias Johann in March 2007, before going on to create Rheingau Founders together. Since then he has been actively involved in founding and developing 20 more startups. As Founder & Managing Director, He was recently responsible for the success of Lieferando, a European delivery service startup that was acquired by the market leader Takeaway.com in 2014 for more than US$100mn. With Lieferando he built a fast-growing, multinational marketplace in a highly competitive environment and learned what it takes to make a startup successful. At Rheingau Founders, He was responsible for new ideas and business model development. With his extensive operational knowledge, he also provides portfolio companies with hands-on advice and strategic guidance, especially in developing efficient processes and operations.
