Biography

Mr. Philip Cavatoni serves as Chief Financial Officer at JW Aluminum. He served as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Vice President at Alpha Natural Resources. Prior to the merger with Foundation Coal in 2009, he served as Alpha's treasurer and executive vice president, finance and strategy from February 2009 through July 2009. During his time at Alpha, Mr. Cavatoni has been responsible for leading the execution of the company's strategic and financial direction and its natural gas operations. In addition, he has been responsible for communications, government affairs and managed idled mining assets. Before joining Alpha, Mr. Cavatoni held various positions at J.P. Morgan, beginning in 1991. He last served as managing director and head of the firm's Basic Materials practice, where he was responsible for management of client relationships, advisory and financing transactions and the strategic allocation of capital across the sector. He earned his B.S. from Drexel University in 1986 and his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is a member of the Drexel University President's Leadership Council and Energy Council. Mr. Cavatoni serves on the board of directors of the FutureGen Alliance and Ceratech. He is also on the board of directors for the Boy Scouts of America Sequoyah Council and is an assistant Troop Leader for Boy Scout Troop 8 in Bristol, Virginia.
