Biography

Mr. Nikhil Bahel serves as Managing Partner at Elysian Park Ventures. He serves as Board Member at Religion of Sports. He served as Senior Vice President - Corporate Development, Discovery Networks International at Discovery Communications. He is currently the head of Discovery Communications' corporate development efforts across Europe, the Middle East & Africa, and also for all sports-related activities and investments for Discovery/Eurosport and all digital-related activities for Discovery Networks International. In this role, he is responsible for the evaluation and execution of M&A, Strategic Partnerships, and Investment activities for Discovery in these regions and businesses. In this capacity, he has overseen Discovery's expansion into Europe with the acquisition of SBS Nordics, into Sports with the investment into Eurosport and Formula E, and into content with the acquisition of All3Media. Prior to joining Discovery Communications, he spent over fourteen years as an investment banker working across North America, Asia, and Europe. He spent three years as a part of Religare Capital Markets' Senior Management team driving the build-out of their international operations. Prior to Religare, he worked at Goldman Sachs' telecom, media, and technology investment banking franchise as an Executive Director in New York and in India. He was a core part of the Investment Banking Leadership Team in Mumbai, India that was responsible for setting-up Goldman Sachs' presence in India. Before moving to Mumbai in 2006, he spent over ten years in New York. While there, he worked at Goldman Sachs' TMT group since 2004 and at Salomon Brothers (Citigroup) M&A group from 1998 to 2004. He has advised numerous clients around the globe on M&A transactions across various industries and has helped leading corporations access funding through the global capital markets. He received a B.B.A. / B.S. (cum laude) in Finance from the Stern School of Business (New York University) in 1998, and a B.A. (honors) in Economics from the University of Delhi in 1996. He serves as a Board Director of Formula E Holdings and sits on the Executive Management and Operations Committees for Eurosport and Discovery's CEEMEA region.
