Biography

Dr. Stephen Curtis served as Managing Director at MPM Capital. He oversees MPM's investment collaboration with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and brings to his role experience in early-stage, start-up creation, and strategic deal structuring and negotiation in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries. He is also responsible for investment identification, due diligence, and business development and supports MPM's partnership with Gilead Sciences. Mr. Curtis serves as a Board Member at TheraBracelet. Mr. Curtis previously served as Bioscience Ventures Executive at 2M Companies. He also served as a Board Member at Partikula. He joined 2M from Reata Pharmaceuticals, where he managed their external innovation sourcing program. Steve led cross-functional efforts to identify, evaluate, and in-license novel biopharmaceutical technologies across a wide range of therapeutic areas. Before relocating to Dallas, Steve completed his Ph.D. in biological and biomedical sciences at Harvard Medical School in Boston. His doctoral studies focused on the cellular biology of lung cancer development, propagation, and progression. Steve graduated summa cum laude from Cornell University, earning a dual B.S. degree in molecular biology and applied economics and management.
