Nirmal Mattoo MD General Information

Biography

Dr. Nirmal Mattoo served as a General Partner at The Vedas Group. He is a physician by training and an entrepreneurial by heart. While being an experienced investor in innovative start-ups, he has a long and distinguished career in healthcare. In addition to his experience as a Chief Executive Officer and Chief Medical Director of Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, his entrepreneurial vision led to the co-founding of Atlantic Dialysis Management Services, the largest privately owned provider of dialysis services on the East Coast. Furthermore, he is a Founding Partner of Mattoo and Bhat Medical Associates one of the largest group practices in New York City devoted exclusively to nephrology practice. He is also deeply involved in the Indian community and Stony Brook University where he is the acting President of the Center for India Studies at Stony Brook University and serves on the Stony Brook Foundation Board. A passionate scholar as well, he has co-edited and published Ananya, a well-received collection of essays on Indian culture. He received his M.D. from the University of Delhi.
