Hermann Liu Ph.D General Information
Biography
Dr. Hermann Liu served as Technology Partner at Arbor Ventures. He has over 20 years of experience in financial technology development. Prior to joining Arbor, Hermann was the co-founder and President of GFT, a Chinese financial information platform for institutional clients. Under his leadership, GFT has built its successful product line by some most advanced big data technology, such as Hadoop, column database (Cassandra), non-SQL database (neo4j) and SAP Hana in-memory database. Hermann served in Morgan Stanley and Charles Schwab, where he led the development of the first online and wireless trading systems. Hermann received a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Northeastern University, an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University.
