Don Rath General Information

Biography

Mr. Don Rath served as a Vice President of Tax at Synopsys. Previously, he served as a Senior Vice President, Acting Chief Financial Officer, Veritas at Symantec. He joined Symantec in August 2012. Most recently, he was Vice President, Global Tax and Corporate Risk Assurance, based in Mountain View, California, responsible for worldwide tax compliance, planning and business support, tax controversy and administration. He served as Symantec's interim Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer from January through March 2014. He has previously held a number of senior tax executive roles in software (VERITAS, Synopsys) and life science companies (Chiron) and spent nine years in the tax practice of Ernst & Young LLP. Don is an Executive Committee Member of Tax Executives Institute (TEI), and formerly the Chair of the TEI Financial Reporting Committee and a past President of the TEI Santa Clara Valley Chapter. He holds a B.A. in Sociology from Yale University, an M.B.A. from the University of California Haas School of Business and an M.S. Taxation from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. He is a CPA in California.
