Ad Rutten General Information

Biography

Mr. Ad Rutten serves as Board Member at Optosecurity. After serving 10 years as a career officer in the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps, Ad Rutten left the service in 1979 to join Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam. Initially he became Chief of Airport Police and in the following years he became General Manager Airside and General Manager Terminal Operations. In 1996, Ad left Schiphol to become CEO of a large logistics company in the Benelux and three years later he returned to the aviation industry as EVP Ground Services for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines responsible for KLM's worldwide ground operations at 120 airports. In 2002 he became Executive Director for the Engineering & Maintenance division of KLM comprising a fleet of 160 aircraft in KLM group and many external customers. In 2005 Ad Rutten returned to Schiphol Group as COO, from which he retired on September 1, 2014.
