Biography

Mr. Elmer Cuba serves as Partner at Grupo Macro. He is a professional with extensive experience in macroeconomic, sector and market projections and analysis, as well as in economic and social impact studies. Due to the nature of economic consulting, he has gained extensive experience in the application of economic theory to a large number of specific cases. In addition, his economic analysis is complemented by statistical skills and experience working in teams. He is currently a macroeconomic consultant for major companies operating in Peru. He was independent member of the board of directors for the Miplo and Atacocha mining companies, Director for the Corporación Financiera de Desarrollo (Development Finance Corporation) (COFIDE), Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the Consejo Directivo del Organismo Supervisor de la Inversión en Energía (Supervisory Board for Investment in Energy) (OSINERG) and Specialized Professional for the Office of Manager of Economic Studies at the Banco Central de Reserva del Perú (Central Reserve Bank of Peru). He was also a member of the Consultative Commission of the Office of President of the Judiciary and a consultant for the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, the International Labour Organization, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), National Superintendency of Tax Administration (SUNAT), the Office of the President of the Council of Ministers, the Andean Development Corporation (CAF), the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (UNECLAC), Fondoempleo, among others. Academically, he is currently a professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and has previously taught at Universidad del Pacifico. He has also been a professor at Escuela de Administración de Negocios para Graduados (Graduate School of Business Administration) (ESAN) and the Diplomatic Academy of Peru. He has a Master's in Economics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
