Biography

Dr. James Rubin is a Co-Founder & serves as Chief Executive Officer & Board Member at RightSite. He is a Co-Founder of RightSite, where he serves as Chief Medical Officer, Executive Chair, Board of Directors, and Manager. He also serves as Board Member at Intelligent Retinal Imaging Systems (IRIS). He was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer at TAVHealth, a company focused on resolving social determinants of health (acquired by Signify NYSE: SGFY). Before TAVHealth, he was the Founder and served as Executive Chair at PTRX, a consumer-oriented pharmacy benefit management company (acquired by Catamaran/Optum NYSE: UNH). Before PTRX, he was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Medical Present Value, a healthcare contract management, and payment verification service (acquired by Experian LON: EXPN). He is the chair of the Texas Biomedical Research Institute, a non-profit primate-based biocontainment research center for COVID and other infectious disease therapies. Appointed by the Texas Insurance Commissioner, he was chair of the Texas Property and Casualty Guaranty Association. Before his entrepreneurial career, he practiced as a cardiac anesthesiologist. He received his M.D. from UT Southwestern, trained at Massachusetts General Hospital, and received an MBA from UT Austin.
