Biography

Mr. Susan Story serves as a Board Member and Member Of Finance and Risk Oversight Committee and the Nominating and Governance Committee at Dominion Energy. On January 24, 2017, the Board of Directors of Dominion Resources, Inc. elected He to the Board, to serve until the next annual election of Director. Story, 56, has been president and chief executive officer of American Water - which provides service to more than 15 million people in 47 states and Ontario, Canada - since 2014. She joined the company in 2013 as chief financial officer, after 31 years at Southern Company. Story began her career at Southern Company as a nuclear power plant engineer. Her subsequent roles included, among others, president and chief executive officer of Southern Company Services, executive vice president of Southern Company Engineering and Construction Services, and president and chief executive officer of Gulf Power Company. Story is the independent lead director of Raymond James Financial. Her community and industry involvement includes her service on the board of directors of the U.S. Water Alliance, the Alliance to Save Energy and the Bipartisan Policy Center. She also serves on the board of advisors of the Electric Power Research Institute and the Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute, and on the board of the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey. Story earned a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Auburn University and an MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
