Biography

Dr. Stephen Daly Co-Founded and served as the Chief Software Architect at CacheIO. Steve has 40 years of experience in scientific computing and software architecture with a broad background in both system level and application level development, having held various positions at a range of startups, from Senior Scientist to Corporate Fellow to Chief Scientist. Most recently, he worked as the architect and developer of the Retica Systems Eagle Eyes extensible communication network. He also worked with Bruce on Seachange's video on demand software. Besides working in startups, he worked in the MIPS Compiler group at SGI and in the Thinking Machines Corporation CMSSL parallel scientific software library group, of which he became the group leader. Before that he was a theoretical geophysicist working at the University of Chicago, M.I.T., the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and Columbia University. Steve holds a PhD in Geophysical Sciences from the University of Chicago, an MS in Physics from the University of Chicago, and a BS in Physics from Boston College.
