Biography

Mr. Benoît Raillard serves as Operating Partner, Private Equity, Europe CDPQ London at Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. He oversees part of the region's direct private equity investment portfolio and is also involved in conducting operational due diligence on new investment opportunities. Mr. Raillard has over 25 years of experience in private equity, general management, and strategy consulting. Before joining CDPQ, he was Managing Director and Operating Partner at the pan-European fund Gimv and senior Director at AlixPartners, where he specialized in turnarounds for private equity funds. He spent 15 years in general management positions in private equity-backed service companies, such as Elis and 5àsec. Before that, he worked in strategy consulting at Bain & Company, in sales and marketing management at Eli Lilly, and operations management at BNP Paribas in New York. He currently sits on the Boards of Directors of FNZ, Alstom, Suez Water Technology & Solutions, Alvest, Avison Young, Biogroup, and Serbia. He is a past Board member of Foncia, TVS Logistics, DalCor, and Datamars. Mr. Raillard holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MSc in Aeronautic Engineering from Ecole Centrale Paris and an MSc in Finance from Institut d'études politiques de Paris.
