Mr. Douglas Gan is the Founder & serves as Non-Executive Chairman at GBCI Ventures. He is a Co-Founder and serves as Executive Director & Board Member at ASEAN Fintech Group. He is a Co-Founder and serves as Chief Executive Officer at Fincy. He is a Co-Founder and serves as Director at iFashion Group. He is a Co-Founder & serves as Vanitee. He is a Co-Founder and Chairman at EZSY. He is also a Co-founder of iFashion Group and serves as its Director. He is an Experiential Entrepreneur who has started a Web Hosting company, an Online Forum, a Counter-Strike Gaming Server Hosting company, a Hardware Trading Business, a Female Online Forum, a Social Media Marketing Agency, a Web/Mobile Agency, a Location Mobile App and a Social Commerce Platform. His current position is as an Angel Investor (Seed Rounds) and has invested in startups focusing on, Gaming, Mobile, Food, Social Analysis, Property, and Beauty. He is currently the Co-Founder of VanityTrove, a social commerce platform to help women discover beauty. He is also the Founder of ShowNearby, India, and Singapore's #1 Mobile location-based service provider (as of Sept 2011). He founded PureHostings, one of the pioneer web hosting companies in Singapore when he was just 16. The Ngee Ann Polytechnic IT graduate also founded GlobalWiz, SunnyPost, WithinBudget, and LiveDNRS. All these businesses were sold to Skydio in 2005. At 18, he founded OhGenki.com, a top youth-based web forum, in 2002. The forum was among the top 2,000 websites globally in 2003 according to ALEXA. OhGenki diversified into aggregating movie information with the launch of OhGenki Movies in late 2005. StreetDirectory.com later bought OhGenki in 2006. At 19, he was trading CISCO/HP/COMPAQ hardware, selling dedicated gaming servers, and launching commerce startups. With experience and contacts gained from 7 years of doing business in the information technology sector, he became the web consultant for StreetDirectory.com, GARENA, PropertyGuru, COMPANEDIA, and various Southeast Asian forums and entertainment portals. StreetDirectory.com was acquired by JobsDB in August 2008. COMPANIA was bought by Global Yellow Pages in July 2010. In March 2008, he founded ShowNearby with their good friend Lee Chang Jin. Global Yellow Pages acquired a majority stake in ShowNearby for SGD 3.5 million. ShowNearby exists as both a web and mobile location-based service that furnishes users with information on points of interest. The ShowNearby application is free for download on the Android, BlackBerry, and iPhone platforms, and has garnered many awards and accolades. Not only is it popular among users, but the application has also become an avenue for business owners to run deals, and discounts, and connect with their customers. His leadership, business insight, and boundless energy have helped develop ShowNearby into the top location-based service provider in the country. Always having a keen eye for opportunity, he has successfully expanded ShowNearby to India with India's #1 Location Based Service Provider, MapMyIndia.Since leaving ShowNearby in Nov 2011, he went on to start VanityTrove, then, a beauty box business. In July 2013, VanityTrove pivoted to a social commerce platform to help women discover beauty. He is also active in charitable events and grassroots. He's a grassroots leader, having been part of the Siglap South Community Center Management Committee and Joo Chiat constituency publicity committee since 2008. He's the Chairman of Ngee Ann Poly ICT and is also an active mentor to startups from Ngee Ann Poly, Singapore Poly, and NUS.
