Biography

Mr. Brian Kaufman is a Co-Founder and serves as Managing Director at Prairie Capital Management. He is responsible for managing client relationships, and investment manager due diligence, and serves on the firm's Investment Committee. He also coordinates business, legal, and tax matters with clients and their legal and tax advisors. Prior to forming Prairie Capital, he practiced law for over a decade as a partner with the Kansas City office of a major international law firm. His practice emphasized tax law, securities law, and venture capital. Prior to practicing law, he was a certified public accountant who practiced with a Big Six accounting firm. He was a founder of the firm in 1995 and serves on the Board and Investment Committees of the Menorah Legacy Foundation, the Board and Finance Committee of the Salvation Army, and the Bloch Advisory Council of the UMKC Henry W. Bloch School of Management. He received a B.S. in Accounting and Business Administration (with Highest Distinction) from the University of Kansas, and a J.D. from Stanford Law School.
