Biography

Mr. Kartik Ramakrishnan served as Chief Executive Officer at Ask.com. He was responsible for incubating new publishing ideas, accelerating growth for established IAC Publishing brands, and full P&L management of a portfolio of informational websites including Ask.com, Smarter, Shop411, Pronto and Consumer Search. Kartik comes to IAC Publishing with more than 15 years of extensive experience in consumer internet products, having most recently served as COO at Ask.com, and prior to that, as general manager and senior vice president at Adchemy Inc. At Adchemy, he was responsible for all product development and go-to-market activities for the company's products for search marketers. Prior to Adchemy, Kartik led a team of 300+ engineers as vice president of engineering for Yahoo!'s web and vertical search products. During his tenure at Yahoo!, Kartik also led the company's Algorithmic Search Transition efforts across more than 50 global markets, successfully integrating Yahoo!'s consumer search products with Microsoft's Bing search platform. He also served as vice president of product planning at Yahoo!, responsible for product and portfolio planning and program management for Yahoo!'s consumer and social search offerings. Before Yahoo!, he was director of middleware platforms at Oracle, leading outbound product management and go-to-market activities for the Fusion Middleware suite of products. Kartik is also a seasoned entrepreneur, having co-founded and led QUIQ, Inc., an early pioneer in Q&A-based knowledge networks. Kartik holds an M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, a Master's in Computer Sciences (M.C.S) from Arizona State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Sciences from The University of Texas at Austin.
