Biography
Ms. Cris Valerio served as Director of Industry Engagement & Knowledge, Venture Lab at Accion. Prior to joining Accion, Cris was a consultant and journalist for various organizations including IDEO, Tomorrow Partners and NPR. Cris also worked as an Innovator in Residence at IDEO.org where she applied human-centered design to concept, model and prototype innovative business solutions in the health, finance, sanitation and education sectors. Previous to that, Cris spent 7 years as a financial news reporter with Bloomberg Television reporting from the floor of the NYSE, Silicon Valley and around the world. She was also the host of Bloomberg Television's small business and entrepreneurship show, "Venture." Cris holds a Bachelor of Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
