Biography

Dr. Akhil Shahani serves as Managing Director at ask.CAREERS. He served as Venture Partner at Kaizen Private Equity. He brings his vast network in the education space to Kaizen. After completing his MBA at Kellogg Graduate School of Management over 18 years ago, Mr. Akhil started a range of ventures in the educational sector. These include a business school for his educational trust and a vocational training franchise. He also runs the nonprofit SAGE Foundation which provides education and skills training for 100 villages in Maharashtra. SAGE was recognized for its work at the Clinton Global Initiative in 2008. He currently serves on the CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) Higher Education Committee and is a Past President of the American Alumni Association, which promotes academic linkages between US and Indian Universities. He is a regular speaker at educational conferences and had been profiled in the media. He has received the 'Bharat Shiromani Award' for his work in education. Other awardees include Mother Teresa, Dalai Lama, and N.R. Narayan Murthy. In his spare time, he is actively involved in mentoring startup social entrepreneurs and promoting the cause of philanthropy.
