Biography

Dr. Weidong Liu served as President & Chief Executive Officer at Signum Instruments. He is focused on developing next-generation oilfield service products. Weidong has over 25 years of product development and project management experience in various industries, with the past 15+ years being dedicated to the oilfield service industry. He joined ThruBit, LLC in 2006 where he was the Director of Engineering and Formation Evaluation. In this role, Weidong was responsible for critical engineering and development projects for downhole applications. He was instrumental in ThruBit's engineering and product development success. Before joining ThruBit, Weidong served in a variety of positions with Halliburton, including senior technical advisor and principal project manager. He was responsible for the HTHP array induction tool development project, which was the first one in its class rated 30kpsi and 500F. Weidong also contributed to Numar development. Before joining Halliburton, he worked for several companies in the Northeast / Mid-Atlantic regions, including Mars Electronics and TA Instruments as a development engineer. Weidong holds a BSEE and MSEE from Southeast University in China and a Ph.D. in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University.
