John Maguire JD General Information
Biography
Mr. John Maguire served as Chief Operating Officer at Greylock Capital Management. He joined in December 2008 following the acquisition of Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. by JP Morgan Chase. He previously was a Senior Managing Director, co-founded and was Head of the Global Liability Management Group focusing on investment grade and high yield corporate and sovereign issuers in the US and the International Markets, and U.S. Government Agency issuers where he acted as financial advisor, dealer manager or consent solicitation agent on over $50 billion principal amount of outstanding debt. Prior to joining Bear Stearns, Mr. Maguire was a partner in the New York law firm of Brown & Wood LLP (now known as Sidley Austin LLP) where he specialized in liability management transactions, mergers and acquisitions and securities laws. At Brown & Wood, Mr. Maguire advised investment banks and issuers regarding the structural and legal requirements of liability management transactions and while there and at Bear Stearns obtained permission from the Securities and Exchange Commission to utilize many of the current structures for liability management transactions including the Real-Time Fixed Spread Tender Offer and the dual settlement process. Mr. Maguire received his LLM (Securities Regulation) from Georgetown University Law Center in 1991, a JD from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1988 and a BSC in Marketing from Santa Clara University in 1980.
