Biography

Dr. Joan Vrtis founded and served as Chief Executive Officer and President at Kemeta. Dr. Joan Vrtis served as Chief Technology Officer at Multek Flexible Circuits. She served as Principal at RoseStreet Labs. Dr. Vrtis' core focus is on the advancement of printed circuits and printed electronic technologies enabling the Intelligence of Things™. Prior to Multek, Dr. Vrtis was chief operating officer of Shocking Technologies, an embedded ESD protection product company. Between 2004 and 2007, she was a principal owner and chief technology officer of FlipChip International in Phoenix, Ariz. Dr. Vrtis started her microelectronics career in the early 1990s at Intel Corporation developing polymer and substrate solutions for the Pentium product line. She has been awarded several patents and holds degrees in polymer engineering, metallurgy, chemistry and a master's degree in business administration from the DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. She has presented Multek's advanced technology at multiple consortia and technical conferences throughout her tenure at Multek.
