Biography

Mr. Dontae Mathis is the Co-Founder and served as an Executive Director at DH Foundation. He is also the Chief Executive Officer at Like Dat Apparel. He is the creative mind and founder of the Like Dat brand, and is the Executive Director of both Like Dat Entertainment - an independent recording label and production company specializing in artist management and development, and Like Dat Apparel - a line of custom design and name brand apparel. nDontae holds an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice, and Juvenile Corrections Certification from Chemeketa Community College, and is the first in his family to earn a college degree. He has worked tutoring GED students and as an art instructor. Dontae specializes in youth mentoring and has provided support in this area both to public schools and youth facilities such as Catholic Community Services in Salem, Oregon and Bridge to Independence in Portland, Oregon. Dontae is the visionary leader behind the Designated Hitter Foundation, as he envisioned the foundations charitable mission and represents DHF to its many constituents, including families, contributors, community members, district officials, policymakers, and partners. Dontae was inspired to develop DHF based on his personal experiences growing up in an underserved and disenfranchised community, as well as his firsthand knowledge of the inner workings of the Federal prison system. These experiences were the catalyst behind Dontae's decision to change not only the direction of his own life, but also his passion in working to promote change within underprivileged neighborhoods and communities. Dontae is also responsible for the web design, graphics and photography of the Brian Hunter Designated Hitter Foundation.
