Biography

Mr. Alvin Hew served as Board Member at Singapore Intercultural School. He serves as Chairman at The Learning Lab. He served as a Board Member at Maxis. He served as Managing Director and Head of APAG Asia at The Abraaj Group. bringing with him 30 years of corporate experience in industries spanning education, banking, finance, and consumer goods. Prior to this, he served on the boards of the European Chamber of Commerce in Taipei from 2006-2009 and Taipei American School from 2011-2014, as well as numerable publicly-listed and portfolio companies. From 2017 to 2023, he served as Group Managing Director of Southgate Ventures, a private equity-owned platform with international schools in Indonesia, India, Myanmar, and Korea together comprising the SIS Group of Schools. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from Queen's University and an MBA from INSEAD. In 2004, he was conferred the title of Chevalier de l'Ordre Nationale du Merite by French President Jacques Chirac in recognition of his business achievements.A firm believer in hands-on leadership, he dedicates much of his time on the ground with TLL's management team to drive the company's growth.
