Biography

Mr. Homi Khusrokhan serves as Senior Advisor, Private Equity at Tata Capital. He joined the Tata group as Managing Director of Tata Tea Limited in 2001. He joined the Board of Tata Chemicals Limited in 2004 and was appointed as the company's Managing Director in 2006. Prior to joining Tata, he was the Country Head & Managing Director of the Glaxo group in India from 1996 to 2000 and also served as the Managing Director of Burroughs Wellcome in India. During his tenure with Tata Tea Limited and Tata Chemicals Limited, he was part of the senior leadership team that managed several cross-border acquisitions including Tetley, Brunner Mond and General Chemicals Industrial Products. Presently he serves as director on the boards of several leading Indian companies including ICICI Bank, Tata AIG Life Insurance Company, Rallis, Advinus Therapeutics, Samson Maritime and Novalead Pharma. He obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (honours) degree from the University of Mumbai and is a qualified chartered accountant. He also holds a Masters degree in accounting and finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He retired as the Managing Director of Tata Chemicals in 2008 and also worked at Glaxo India.
