Biography

Dr. Kiersten Stead is a Co-Founder and serves as Managing Partner at DCVC Bio. She serves as Board Member at Radionetics Oncology. She serves as a Board Member at Totus Medicines. She served as a Board Member at Plexium. She serves as a Board Member at Creyon Bio. She serves as a Board Member at Elo Life Systems. She served as a Board Member at Verdant Robotics. She invests in early-stage companies that work tirelessly to build Deep Tech platforms to develop therapeutics, improve agriculture and food, and build novel businesses in industrial biotechnology. Before DCVC, she was an Investment Director at Monsanto Growth Ventures (MGV), which invested in a similar thesis. She serves on the boards of multiple Deep Tech companies, including past roles in acquired companies Blue River Technology (John Deere) and Vital Fields (The Climate Corporation). She is also a member of the Investment Committee of Genome Canada GAAP and is on the Keystone Symposia Scientific Advisory Board and the Danforth Center Board. Previously, she was a Management Consultant specializing in early-stage company development. She was a Scientist in Genetics & Molecular Biology at the University of Alberta and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. She received a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology & Genetics an MBA in finance from the University of Alberta and a BS in Molecular & Cellular Biology. The University of Calgary.
