Biography

Dr. Jacques Coumans serves as Board Member at InkSpace Imaging. He also served as Advisor at Harvard Bioscience. He was named Chief Marketing Officer of Harvard Bioscience in September 2020. He has significant experience in bringing direction and focuses into healthcare companies, from large/complex to aspiring/mid-size and focused/private start-ups. He has over 35 years of experience in truly understanding the unmet needs of customers, defining a company's product portfolio, formulating the right strategy, and creating the go-to-market story for the company. Prior to joining the company, he served as President of Hyperfine, a Connecticut start-up that developed and brought to market the world's first portable MRI system. Before that, he was the Chief Marketing and Scientific Officer at Analogic and helped more than double revenues at Analogic's Ultrasound business. He was General Manager at GE Healthcare for its Premium and interventional MRI business, and later he was Chief Marketing Officer for all of GE MRI. Earlier in his career, he worked for Philips Healthcare, as a research scientist in Germany, as MRI product manager in the Netherlands, as MR Key Account Manager for the top Universities in the USA, as CMO of Philips MR and as VP of Oncology in the Netherlands. He earned a Master of Science in Applied Physics at Eindhoven University of Technology, and a Doctorate at the Carolina-Wilhelmina University in Braunschweig, Germany; he also was Adjunct Ass. Professor of Radiology at Emory University. He served as Vice President & Chief Marketing and Scientific Officer at Analogic. He joined Analogic in 2014. Prior to that, he was CEO of the company he founded, Coumans Care LLC, a thought leader and provider of patient-centric suites. Before that, he was CMO of GE Healthcare's Global Magnetic Resonance business. He also held the position of CMO of Philips Global Magnetic Resonance Business. He is a physicist by training. He received his Ph.D. from Carola-Wilhelmina University in Braunschweig, Germany, and an MSc degree from Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands.
