Biography

Ms. Lori Van Dusen is the Founder and serves as Chief Executive Officer at LVW Advisors. She began her career with natural gravitation to the investment industry in 1987. By 2004 she had achieved the title of Managing Director with Citigroup/Smith Barney Institutional Consulting - a group that she helped to create. Later in a renegade move, she took the role of co-lead of Convergent Wealth Advisors' Institutional Group, where she served on the Executive and Investment Committees, advising approximately $8 billion in assets for clients. As a push to break away from the traditional big banks/wirehouses to better represent her established institutional and ultra-high net worth clients, She founded LVW Advisors, a local registered investment advisor (RIA) where she has established an independent model, becoming the voice of reason for holistic solutions in a fragmented financial services industry. Considered one of the leading investment advisors in the country, she has been honored to be repeatedly ranked in the top ten of Barron's Top 100 Women Financial Advisors. In 2010, she was named Institutional Investor's Nonprofit Consultant of the Year. In addition, because of her astute business acumen and philanthropic endeavors, she is a nationally sought speaker. Routinely, she and her team are featured in premier investment publications, the most recent being both Barron's and Forbes. In addition, she is on the advisory boards for the United Way, American Heart Association, and F.F. Thompson Health System. Recently, she was also appointed to serve on the advisory board for MarketCounsel, a leading regulatory compliance consulting firm to the country's preeminent entrepreneurial investment advisors. She received her undergraduate degree from Ithaca College and a Master of Education from Harvard University.
