Martin Baart General Information

Biography

Mr. Martin Baart served as Vice President of Engineering at OneShore. He has been working on the design, implementation and optimisation of solar-diesel hybrid systems for the last six years. He worked in research & development and business development both at Australia-based Powercorp Pty. Ltd., the world market leader in high-penetration renewable energy off-grid systems, and ABB after its acquisition of Powercorp in 2011. Originally routed in the optimisation of remote diesel generator systems, Powercorp introduced the most advanced energy management and control system available in the solar-diesel-hybrid market today. He developed a critical tool allowing for a significantly accelerated grid stability assessments and, hence, faster market adoption. He also conducted numerous engineering and design studies for renewable energy based hybrid island systems and worked on their implementation. He started his career at a German regional utility and worked on the electrical design and grid integration of PV plants. He studied at the Steinbeis University in Berlin and holds a Master of Business and Engineering. He also has a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering from Trier University of Applied Science and is a qualified electrical technician. He speaks German, English, Dutch and Spanish.
