Biography

Mr. David Mort serves as Board Member at SumUp. He serves as General Partner at Propel Venture Partners. He serves as Board Member at SumUp. He served as Board Member at Charlie, Steady, and Hippo Insurance. He formerly served as Senior Associate at Propel Venture Partners. He joined Propel from BBVA Ventures, where he had been investing in the financial technology sector since 2013. He helped source Propel's investment in Earnest and is closely involved with other portfolio companies including DocuSign, Prosper, Coinbase, and Personal Capital. He served as a Board Observer at Grabango. He serves as Board Observer at Ease and Charlie. In addition to evaluating investments at BBVA Ventures, He was involved with BBVA's acquisition of DocuSign, Coinbase, Earnest, SumUp, and Personal Capital. He continues as a board observer at SumUp. Prior to BBVA Ventures, he was a Senior Associate at SVB Analytics, where he executed valuation engagements with high-growth technology startups, analyzed company performance for business development and strategic advisory, and supported initiatives to identify top-performing companies. He holds a degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he double majored in Finance, Investment & Banking, and Management & Human Resources - Entrepreneurship. Alumni of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he is data-driven and enjoys discussing product and design and learning about emerging trends. Outside of work he is an aspiring outdoorsman and enjoys time with his family in Wisconsin and Florida.
