Biography

Mr. J. Samuel Gentry served as Principal at LBA Haynes Strand. He has over 30 years of experience in law and public accounting. He works primarily in the areas of individual and corporate tax planning, return preparation, and estate planning, including trust and gift tax. He also focuses on preparation of business valuations. Sam is a 1975 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BS degree in Business Administration and earned a JD degree from the UNC School of Law in 1978. He is a licensed N.C. attorney as well as a Certified Valuation Analyst. His previous work experience includes three years with a Greensboro law firm. Currently, Sam is serving on the Board of Directors of the Surry County Schools Educational Foundation and is a former Board member of the Mount Airy Youth Foundation, the Surry Community College Foundation, Inc., and the Surry Arts Council. He is also a member of First Baptist Church of Mount Airy where he has served as a Deacon and as Chairman of the Finance Committee.
