Biography

Mr. KP Balaraj is the Founder of KPB Family Trust. He served as Board Member at Digital Signage Networks. He was the Co-founder and Managing Director of WestBridge Capital and co-led the firm from inception for almost two decades. He was also the co-founder and Managing Director of Sequoia Capital India from 2006-2010. Before that, he was part of Goldman Sachs where he focused on private equity in Asia. He received his MBA from Harvard Business School and a BSc in Business Management from Brigham Young University, Hawaii, where he graduated as the valedictorian of his class. He completed his schooling at Madras Christian School, Chennai. As an accomplished top-ranked national tennis player, he had represented India at the international level. He currently serves on the advisory board of Harvard University's Mittal South Asia Institute and is an active supporter of non-profit organizations in India focused on underprivileged and orphaned children. He is also an active promoter of Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association's (KSLTA) Wheelchair Tennis. He was also selected as part of PM Modi's distinguished "Champions of Change", and was honored for his contributions to the growth of venture capital and the startup industry in India.
