Biography

Mr. Steve Blauner served as Managing Director and Restructuring Specialist at Solus Alternative Asset Management. He joined Solus in September 2008 as the Firm's Restructuring Specialist. Prior to joining Solus, Mr. Blauner was a partner at Latigo Partners, L.P., which he co-founded in 2005. He began his career as a member of the Financial Restructuring Group at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, where he practiced from 1978 to 2005 and focused on representing hedge funds. While at Milbank, Mr. Blauner acted as the principal outside counsel to the Loan Syndications & Trading Association (LSTA) with respect to distressed debt trading issues in the secondary loan market. In this capacity, Mr. Blauner developed the trading forms and protocols that are used for trading distressed loan assets in the secondary market, as well as the LSTA-recommended procedures governing the use of material non-public information. Mr. Blauner is a member of the New York State Bar Association's Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility, which he chaired from 2001 to 2005. He has served on the New York County and New York City Bar Association Ethics Committees, and he chaired the County Lawyers Committee for many years. Mr. Blauner received a BA from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1975 and a JD from Georgetown University Law Center in 1978.
