Biography

Mr. Philip Cecil serves as Executive Director & Deputy General Counsel at CIBC Private Wealth Management. He served as Managing Director of General Counsel & Chief Administrative Officer at McDonnell Investment Management. He has twenty-one years of investment industry experience and is responsible for overseeing the Company's legal and regulatory compliance program. From 2001 to April 2008, Mr. Cecil served as Assistant General Counsel at Invesco, where he provided legal counsel to several units of Invesco's investment management operations across the country. From 1997 until 2001, Mr. Cecil was corporate counsel for William Blair & Company, LLC, and was charged with providing legal services for William Blair's asset management, investment banking, research, and brokerage units. He began his legal career with Van Kampen Investments Inc. in 1994 and spent three years providing legal services to Van Kampen's institutional separate account and investment company units. Mr. Cecil earned his J.D. degree from DePaul University.
