Biography

Dr. Adesegun Akin-Olugbade serves as Vice Chairman at Dolidol. Dr. Akin-Olugbade served as Executive Director, General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer at Africa Finance. He has oversight responsibility for Corporate Governance, Legal Services, Human Resources, Administration (logistics), Corporate Communications and Country membership. He was appointed pioneer Chairman of the AFC procurement committee in 2011. He has over 25 years of experience in the legal profession and financial services sector, having worked at both the professional and management levels, in the public and private sectors, for leading commercial law firms, development banks and international financial institutions. He has served (and currently serves) on the Boards of Directors of leading pan-African development financial institutions, investment banks and corporations. He was previously General Counsel and Director at the African Development Bank and pioneer Chief Legal Officer and Head of the Legal Services Department of the African Export-Import Bank. He conceived the African Legal Support Facility. He was a pioneer Non-Executive Director (NED) of Asset & Resources Management Company Limited (ARM) Nigeria from 1994-1999 and currently serves as NED on the Boards of Directors of AFC Equity Investments Limited, Mauritius, Allied Atlantic Distilleries Limited, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated and OBA Transport Limited. A graduate of King's College London, School of Law, he also has a Masters and a Doctorate degree from Harvard Law School. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1984, where he came top of his graduating class. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, the International Bar Association and the International Law Association, where he is one of two African members of the distinguished Committee on International Monetary Law (MOCOMILA). An alumnus of several Executive Management and Leadership Programmes and a recipient of numerous scholarly prizes, awards and fellowships, including Harvard University and Rockefeller Foundation Fellowships, he was conferred with the National Honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) by the Nigerian Government in 2012.
