Stewart Satter General Information
Biography
Mr. Stewart Satter served as Chief Executive Officer at Consumer Testing Laboratories. He also served as a Partner at City Light Capital. In 1982, he joined the family business (founded by his late father Herbert Satter) and moved overseas, where he lived for four years while establishing the Company's Hong Kong and Taiwan testing facilities. He purchased the Company from his family in 1988. Stewart has led the growth of CTL from 40 employees to almost 1,000 worldwide establishing testing facilities in India, Mexico City, Taiwan and Singapore. The Company currently operates testing facilities in the USA, Canada, Hong Kong, China, and Bangladesh. He was interested in entrepreneurship at a very early age. To share his passion with future entrepreneurs, Stewart donated the seed money for the Stewart Satter Program in Entrepreneurship at NYU Stern. This program was developed to encourage the innovation in higher education and in student ventures that pursue the "double bottom line" of profitability and social impact. Stewart became a partner at City Light Capital to apply his entrepreneurial skills and to be a part of an innovative fund that is a leader in impact investing. He is a member of the NYU Stern Board of Overseers and a 2005 recipient of the NYU Stern Nichols Award, in recognition for his integrity, enterprise, and service to the community. He received his MBA in Finance from NYU Stern. He also holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
