Biography

Mr. John Kim is a Co-Founder and serves as Partner, Asia at Amasia. He serves as Board Director at Dialpad. He serves as Board Member and Board Observer at Xendit. He serves as Board Member at Dialpad and Super App. He served as Board Member at Living Food and The Athletic. He served as Advisor at Protege Ventures. He began his career as an entrepreneur, founding music internet and e-consulting businesses before joining Merck & Co as a Systems Specialist. He left Merck to start his third company, a Delaware-incorporated rock band called The Ally. He spent the next 10 years managing trading and investment strategies across multiple asset classes for Goldman Sachs, Korean National Investments, and Mercuria Energy Group. Over the years, he has been affiliated with various organizations at the intersection of entrepreneurship and education. He was a Kauffman Fellow, a member of the Young Presidents Organization, and sit on the advisory boards for Kairos Society Asean and The Choson Exchange, a non-profit focused on training entrepreneurs in North Korea. He is also a lay preacher and board member at his church, Solomon's Porch Singapore. He has a B.A.S. in Management and Technology from the Jerome Fisher Dual Degree Program and a B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
