Biography

Mr. Cliff Orr serves as a Partner at Battle Investment Group. Mr. Orr serves as Board Member & Lead Independent Director at Metal Finishing Technologies. Mr. Orr joined Battle Investment Group in 2016. His efforts are focused on the firm's investment activities, including investment sourcing and transaction execution, and ultimately supporting the growth, expansion, and success of the firm's portfolio companies. Mr. Orr has spent much of his career working with small- and medium-sized enterprises to support their growth and advancement. Before joining Battle Investment Group, he served as senior vice president and research analyst with Concourse Capital Management, an Atlanta-based alternative investment firm. Before Concourse Capital Management, Mr. Orr served as managing director with JAM Capital Partners, a private investment partnership focused on Southeast-based lower middle-market operating companies, as a research analyst with Privet Fund Management, an alternative investment firm, and as vice president and portfolio manager with Timbervest, a real estate private equity firm where he ran a portfolio of federally-regulated mitigation bank and agriculture-based operating investments. He began his career as a practicing attorney. Mr. Orr earned an MBA with Distinction from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a JD and BBA, both magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia. Mr. Orr currently serves as chairman of BACE, LLC, a Charlotte, North Carolina-based global manufacturer of recycling and waste management equipment. He also serves as a Board Member at Waterleaf International. In addition, he serves on the national board of the American Enterprise Institute Enterprise Club and as an elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta. Previously, he served as a board member of Rand Capital Corporation, a publicly-traded investment firm that makes venture capital investments in small- to medium-sized businesses and that had a particular emphasis on aerospace and technology products sold into regulated end-markets. Mr. Orr is a member of the State Bar of Georgia (inactive) and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
