Biography
Mr. Robert Benia served as Managing Director at Smart THINGS Capital Partners. Bob has acquired over 30 years of global business leadership experience in creating, operating, financing and growing companies. He brings his unique entrepreneurial vision, combined with an operational discipline and focused management style, to building enterprise value and maximizing investor return. Prior to founding Smart [THINGS] Capital Partners, Bob worked for Texas Instruments having the responsibility of identifying and structuring new business opportunities for existing technologies within its military, consumer and semiconductor divisions across the U.S. and Europe. He later joined The Canada Consulting Group as a business strategist for its clients that included Loblaw and Weston Food Group. Bob went on to create two of North America's most successful live and digital production companies that generated audience engagement for its media partners such as Gannett, Meredith Corporation and Cox Communications and retail brand clients such as DuPont, Nordstrom, Target and MasterCard Global. Most recently, Bob served as Chief Marketing Officer for NEXT, a neuroscience research and design firm. He has served as business advisor and strategist for several private and public technology companies. Bob is an alumnus of Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service with a degree in International Finance and Economics. He has an MBA from Marquette University and a Masters in Internet Marketing from University of San Francisco. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in educational technology.
