Biography

Dr. Roberto Solari serves as Co-Founder, Founding Chief Executive Officer and Biology Consultant at Myricx Pharma. He serves as a Venture Partner - United Kingdom at Brandon Capital Partners. He serves as an Advisor at Cincera Therapeutics. He serves as Advisor at Ena Respiratory. He served as Venture Partner at Touchstone Innovations. He also served as Chairman at Auspherix. He is a research biologist and is currently a Visiting Professor at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London. Prior to this, he was Vice President in GSK's Respiratory Therapy Area based in Stevenage in the UK where his role covered drug discovery from target identification through to proof of concept studies in man. Before joining GSK, he was CEO of the Medical Research Council's technology transfer arm, MRCT. The MRCT is responsible for managing intellectual property, licensing activities, creating spin-out companies, and developing an internal drug discovery group. Prior to this, he spent 5 years in the venture industry, latterly as an advisor to Apax Partners' life sciences team having previously worked with Abingworth as an entrepreneur in residence helping start up a number of companies including Astex Therapeutics, Lorantis, and Chroma Therapeutics. Before this, he was Head of the Cell Biology Unit at GlaxoWellcome, following post-doctoral research at the Institut de Biochimie, Universite de Lausanne, and at Liverpool University. He has BSc and Ph.D. in Physiology and Cell Biology from Nottingham University.
