Biography

Mr. Trevor Zimmerman is a Co-Founder and serves as Managing Partner at Unless Management. He is the Co-Founder and serves as Managing Partner at Blackhorn Ventures. He serves as a Board Member at Humatics, Xwing, Sustainment, Wunder Capital, Vecna Robotics, and Rhumbix. He is an angel investor. He was also a Co-Founder and served as Managing Partner at Farmore Capital Group. Previously he was the Senior Engineer of Kurion. In addition to angel investing and venture capital, his professional experience ranges from developing materials for biomedical implants and designing high-performance batteries for the U.S. Navy to developing systems to hinder the migration of radionuclides in groundwater at the Y-12 National Security Complex. Before co-founding Blackhorn, he was the Managing Partner of Farmore Capital Group. Before co-founding FGC, he was the principal engineer in the Technology Development Division of a venture-backed startup company, Kurion, Inc. Here he was responsible for the development and early-stage maturation of technological solutions that support clean energy through waste separation and stabilization, primarily for radioactive wastewater treatment efforts at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. He serves on several for-profit and non-profit boards. He has lectured and/or published in the areas of venture capital, entrepreneurship, advanced materials, environmental engineering, and radiochemistry and holds a patent for making carbon nanopores and ductwork with nanometric walls. He studied management and entrepreneurship in the Executive Education program at the MIT Sloan School of Management, completed a post-graduate research appointment at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and holds an M.S. in Environmental Engineering from Clemson University and a B.A. in Chemistry from Alfred University.
