Biography

Mr. Paul Kim serves as Chief Executive Officer at Matica Biotechnology. He served as Chief Strategy Officer at Wacker Biotech US. He served as Board Member at WCCT Global. He was a Founding Partner and served as Managing Partner & Chief Executive Officer at Medivate Partners. He has over 20 years of professional experience in R&D and business management in bio industry. He started his career at Genentech in 1994, a global leader in biotechnology. Before founding Medivate, He served as the Head of Novartis Venture Fund Korea (NVFK) - first global pharmaceutical fund to focus solely on innovative Korean biotech investments. Most recently He served as co-founder and head of POSCO BioVentures - $62M Venture Fund focused on US & EU biotech investments on behalf of POSCO, $40B steel conglomerate. He also served as the Vice President of Business Development at ViroMed (KOSDAQ: 084990), a leading public biotherapeutics company, overseeing the company's corporate development activities. Prior to ViroMed, He served as Vice President at CrystalGenomics (KOSDAQ 083790), forging key strategic partnerships during his tenure. He received his bachelor's degree in Molecular Cell Biology from U.C. Berkeley, and is a graduate of Life Sciences Executive program. Currently, He is a member of NVCA (National Venture Capital Association) and Bio chapter member of LESI (Licensing Executives Society International).
