Biography

Ms. Michele Agbejule served as Advisor and Board Member at Venture Connects. She is the Executive Director of the Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies (IES) and the Director of the IL SBDC at UIC, both of which integrate entrepreneurship education along with providing outreach services to the Chicago community. Additionally, she currently teaches entrepreneurship at the undergraduate level at UIC. Michele joined the UIC staff 9 years ago as the Assistant Dean of the Liautaud Graduate School of Business where she was responsible for all graduate business programs. Prior to joining UIC, Michele was the Business Manager for the Haiti Program at the University of Notre Dame, where she managed a $5.2 million grant from The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to eradicate Lymphatic Filariasis in Haiti. Here she also taught a certificate program in Entrepreneurship. To this day Michele continues to travel to Haiti frequently to work on economic development as well as volunteer as a Creole translator in the area hospital. More recently Michele launched her own business, in June 2012, based on mobile technology for food trucks. Michele earned her undergraduate degree from Indiana University and her graduate degree from the University of Notre Dame.
