ACG InterGrowth isn’t your typical meet-and-greet conference. It’s specifically designed for those on the hunt for private capital in the middle market.

In addition to networking with top M&A deal-makers, attendees gain access to capital opportunities through ACG Capital Connection and hear from renowned industry experts.

With so many sessions taking place, we’ve highlighted the three we are looking forward to most:

1. State of M&A: Impact of Potential Disruptors on Market Activity in 2019 and Beyond

Breakout Session | Monday, May 6 | 3:30 - 4:20pm | Palm Beach

In today’s marketplace, strong economic fundamentals and increasing sector convergence is fueling U.S. dealmaking, and this trend of robust M&A activity is expected to continue. However, the M&A market could experience disruptions and uncertainty, both domestically and across the globe, which will cause organizations to reassess their acquisition strategies. Join this interactive panel discussion where panelists will share thoughts on how potential disruptors may affect M&A activity for the rest of 2019 and beyond.

Moderated by Michael Milani, Executive Managing Director and Principal, Baker Tilly Capital, LLC

Speakers:

  • Tony Nitti, Partner, RubinBrown LLP
  • Tom Aronson, Partner, Head of Originations, Monroe Capital
  • Chris Willis, Director, Industrial Opportunity Partners

2. Families Fueling The Middle Market

Middle-Market Insights Theater | Tuesday, May 7 | 11:10am – 12:00pm | Floridian Ballroom

Families are an increasingly important segment of the deal making ecosystem driving middle market business growth. This panel discussion will explore the evolution of family offices and the family business community investing in the middle market. The number of new family offices and amount of direct family investing has risen for a variety of reasons and no two families’ priorities are the same, so “when you’ve seen one family office, you’ve seen one family office.” Panelists will discuss the opportunities and obstacles surrounding this unique capital source as well as the drivers behind this trend. Join the session to learn more about how generational wealth and family offices are impacting M&A, traditional institutional investors and others in the deal space.

Moderated by Ben Redman, Managing Partner, Transaction Advisory Services, DHG

Speakers:

  • Paul D. Barnett, Managing Director, Ulysses Management LLC
  • Elizabeth Browne, Vice President and Head of Business Development, DNS Capital, LLC
  • Vaibhav Saraiya, Principal, Solamere Capital

3. Navigating And Capitalizing On Opportunity Zones

Featured Session | Tuesday, May 7 | 1:00 – 2:00pm | Grand Ballroom

This session will cover the details of the US Tax Cut and Jobs Act Opportunity Zone Program and its impact on M&A. Panelists will discuss the risks, complexities, and constraints associated with OZs and how to identify good versus bad OZs. Panelists will share their thoughts on why private equity should care about the program, how private equity can interact with OZs, and their thoughts on engaging with local municipalities. If available, they will also discuss the latest guidance from the US Treasury Department.

This session will be moderated by our very own Nizar Tarhuni, Associate Director, Research & Analysis, PitchBook

Speakers:

  • Frank McGrew IV, Managing Partner, McNally Capital LLC
  • Jason Cordon, Principal, Sixty West Funds

If you are attending InterGrowth 2019, we highly recommend stopping by any of these events! We’re especially excited to moderate a panel discussion—so be sure to check out Nizar’s session on Opportunity Zones on Tuesday at 1pm.
