We know our users don’t have extra time to spare and that every minute counts. That’s why we’ve recently made usability improvements to our in-platform search. With this redesign, we’ve created a more intuitive experience that enables the discovery of relevant, gleanable data and insights based on context.
Overall, these updates will help our clients find what they need more quickly and provide them with more of the value that PitchBook can bring to their work—including easier access to research, popular advanced searches, fund data and more.
A smoother, time-saving user experience
Our recent redesign emphasizes improvements to usability, ensuring that our clients can spend less time navigating back and forth through pages and more time uncovering insights that inform decisions. Improved search logic also means that search results are even more accurate than before, matching you with exactly what you’re looking for.
We’ve added an immersive, full-page view to create a better picture of any entity directly from the search page with key data and metrics presented next to results. Plus, jump immediately to popular sections of a profile such as active investors, similar companies, investments and even funds—depending on which kind of entity you’re exploring.
Surface relevant insights and resources
Now when you search in PitchBook, you’ll see an assortment of research related to a selected search result, including original private market research and Morningstar public equity research. Newly surfaced pre-built advanced searches are also dynamic, presenting topics and criteria based on a selected search result.
Take Robinhood, for example, which is currently a private company, headquartered in the US and operating in the fintech vertical. With our redesigned search experience, these attributes are used to populate and suggest finer-tuned, pre-built searches that are likely to be relevant to you. Following this example, a user could expect to see advanced searches like:
- “All unicorns”
- “Recent fintech, VC Deals”
- “Public comps for Robinhood”
Meanwhile, clients can also expect to see links to proprietary research and reports, such as Emerging Tech Research on Fintech, for additional insights and analysis.
Easier access to funds and fund data
We’ve incorporated funds into our new general search experience, too. In addition to navigating to funds via an investor’s profile, users will now see funds show up directly in search results. Plus, filter your search results specifically for funds to narrow your search and remove any unwanted entity types.
With quicker access to important information and resources, improved search logic and enhanced usability, our general search redesign will help our clients find exactly what they’re looking for—while surfacing relevant, meaningful insights.
