D'Ornano + Co.

Raphaëlle d’Ornano, the firm’s founder and managing partner, worked at some of the world’s top auditing and transaction services companies after attending university. While working at Deloitte, she decided to pursue a law degree—something that had always interested her. Balancing her workload with rigorous weekend and evening courses, she realized how siloed due diligence and legal transaction services were. “While conducting audits on big firms, we were analyzing financial and legal due diligence separately,” she says. “And I told myself, ‘Something is wrong. We are not getting the full picture.’” Also, she felt that these firms were too focused on execution, to the detriment of strategic advice.

After finishing her studies, d’Ornano founded D’Ornano + Co. The firm is France’s first to specialize in financial and legal due diligence under one roof, using one holistic method and also providing strategic advice for medium and long-term growth initiatives. Experiencing immense growth in France’s hotter-than-ever investment landscape, D’Ornano + Co. expanded into the US with the opening of its New York City office in 2020. With a multi-disciplined team of 35 collaborators and near-term plans to double that number and expand further in Europe, D’Ornano + Co. is uniquely positioned as a bridge-building service provider.

“We are bridge-builders between law and finance, PE and VC and technology and the traditional economy.”
