While attending Web Summit, PitchBook conducted an investor survey to better understand sentiment toward emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), fintech, blockchain and more.
The survey findings indicate that venture investors see the most potential for disruption in AI/ML but are still conflicted over rising valuations. On top of that, investors are showing concern over the rate at which unprofitable US VC-backed companies have gone public this year—a record high that surpasses the previous record set in 2002 (the year the dot-com bubble burst).
