Digital manufacturer Protolabs to buy VC-backed 3D Hubs

US-based Protolabs has agreed to acquire online manufacturing platform provider 3D Hubs for $280 million. The Dutch company provides access to a global network of manufacturing services that facilitate the production of custom parts. 3D Hubs has raised over $30 million from investors including Endeit Capital, EQT Ventures and Balderton Capital.
