Fairhaven Power General Information


The biomass plant is an 18MW renewable energy generation facility on the Samoa Peninsula surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, five miles from downtown Eureka in Northern California. It sits on 56 acres of industrial land along a ten mile long peninsula that forms Humboldt Bay. All of the power generated at the biomass plant is sold to Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) under a longterm Power Purchase Agreement that extends to 2017. As of June 2008, the company operates as a subsidiary of Marubeni Sustainable Energy.
