  • Kaidi Gao is a senior venture capital research analyst at PitchBook, where she contributes to the VC team’s core reports and produces quarterly thematic analyst notes on various topics. Her research and expertise focus primarily on venture debt, VC in the APAC region and seed- and early-stage dealmaking. Prior to this role, Gao worked as a Senior Data Operations Associate, overseeing PitchBook’s VC-backed company dataset.

    Gao received a master’s degree in Near Eastern Studies from Princeton University and a bachelor’s degree in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies with a focus on Arabic from Duke University. She is based in PitchBook’s Seattle office.
  • Ali Javaheri is a senior emerging technology research analyst at PitchBook, where he covers and maintains Emerging Spaces. The Emerging Spaces tool is a technology discovery feature within the PitchBook platform that enables users to identify niche, emerging frontier technologies. Prior to PitchBook, Javaheri conducted private sector research on global regulatory policy for digital currencies and pandemic-induced shifts in alternative asset allocations.

    Javaheri has a master’s degree in International Finance from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from George Mason University. He is based in PitchBook’s New York office.
  • Mike leads Promus Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on DeepTech, early-stage startups.

    Since its founding in 2012, Promus has established offices in Chicago, San Francisco, and Luxembourg. With over 20 years of experience, Mike has invested in more than 100 startups, including Rocket Lab, AngelList, Whoop, Mapbox, ICEYE, Bellabeat, FLYR, Kensho, Swift Navigation, and Spire Global.
  • Sunil leads Ubiquity Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on “software beyond the screen” startups.

    Ubiquity backs pre-seed and seed-stage companies using smart hardware or machine learning to address real-world business challenges. With nearly $200 million under management, its portfolio includes 40 startups applying software to fields like agriculture, space, automotive, and healthcare.
  • For nearly two decades, Bilal has invested in founders tackling major challenges with ambitious, technical solutions across industries like enterprise software, deeptech, healthcare, national security, and climate.
