Daniel Baum Head of Payments Product for the FedNow Service, Federal Reserve |
Daniel Baum is the head of payments product for the FedNow Service. In his role, Dan leads product development and product management efforts for the Federal Reserve's newly announced FedNow service offering. Baum previously served as vice president in the Retail Payments Office (RPO) of the Federal Reserve System, where he led the RPO's product development group overseeing Check and ACH product development and pricing. He also serves as a product development director in the RPO, overseeing key product and pricing initiatives for the automated clearinghouse (ACH) and check business lines. From 1996 to 2005, Baum worked at the Richmond Fed managing day check operations and led the Fifth District's Check Administration department. Baum holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Maryland at Baltimore, an MBA from Johns Hopkins University, and attended Banking School at Vanderbilt University. |

Jim Colassano Senior Vice President, Product Development & Strategy, The Clearing House |
Mr. Colassano has more than 25 years of experience in all facets of the Payments and Cash Management business. He joined The Clearing House in 2016 as a Senior Vice President in the Product Development and Strategy group, where he is focused on product strategy and bank readiness for TCH's new real-time payments system. In this role he works closely with TCH owner banks on opportunities and applications to address business related payment problems and identify strategic priorities for this new payments infrastructure.
Before joining The Clearing House, Jim spent 10 years with HSBC as a Product Executive in their Payments and Cash Management group. During that period, he served as the Global Product Head for their Payables business which had responsibility for faster payments initiatives as well as cash, check and ACH payment products worldwide. Before joining HSBC, he spent 15 years with JP Morgan Chase in a variety of cash and treasury management roles. Mr. Colassano holds Master's Degrees in Banking and Finance from Pace University.
